Dog Days

Our poor dog doesn't get as much attention as she used to so it's always nice when we get to take her on an adventure. It's even nicer when we meet up with friends and their dog, and the pups can have some fun together.

We've decided to make it a regular date!

Dog Shaming

When Owen and I got back from dinner last night we wondered why the dog was waiting for us inside the house when she'd been outside when we left.

It didn't take long to figure out what had happened...

The neighbours were letting off fireworks which must have scared her enough to try to get into the house any way possible. She was so pleased with herself and we couldn't help but laugh!

After cleaning up the glass Owen took some photos so we can send one to Dog Shaming. She looks really sad in this photo, but it must be one of the only ones where she doesn't have a big smile on her face!

Tennis Practice

Tonight Owen and I went down to the tennis courts for a few hits. We took the dog along as ball girl. She was pretty good at fetching the ball and bringing it back, but every now and then would get a little too excited and steal the tennis ball mid-rally.

Despite this her ball retrieving skills are still a lot better than my tennis skills!

Snow Day!

It usually snows in Christchurch about once a year, and this morning we woke up to this:

Snow is so infrequent here that nobody's really equipped to deal with it, so the city shuts down for the day. I love a bonus long weekend! This is the heaviest snowfall I've ever seen in Christchurch, and the best thing about snow here is that it's usually gone within a day or two, just when the novelty has worn off.

Our plans for the rest of the day involve keeping the fire going, building a snowman (we pretty much have to do that), and taking the dog for a walk. It turns out she really loves snow!

Good Start to the Weekend

Our dog may be strange but she's also entertaining!

I don't have any plans for the rest of the weekend at the moment but might go to the market to visit the cheese monger, finish reading a book or two, maybe do a little writing (maybe), and challenge my favourite person to a wrestling match for the title of champion of the world. You know, the usual.
